這本書的內容大致上分為四個部分：
1.數位學習觀念介紹：e-Learning Technologies-in-Practice through Philosophies-in-Practice、Situating Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) in an Online Learning Environment (PLAR:process of identifying, assessing and recognizing what a person knows and can do for the purpose of awarding academic credit)
2.科技運用，包括數位學習基礎環境建設、媒體運用議題、行動載具議題
3.教材開發設計概念，除了教材開發之外，也有財務決策議題
4.線上課程運作模式，包含課程傳遞、如何協助學習者、如何控管品質、如何執行線上團體學習
